The Ninja Hot & Cold Blender makes applesauce as easy as 1-2-3!
Jump to RecipeWhether you bake with it, make fruit leather with it, or simply snack on it, applesauce is great to have on hand. The best part about making it yourself is making it exactly the way you like it, without additives or preservatives. Choose what type and how much sweetener you’d like (if you want any at all), add cinnamon and nutmeg to spice it up a bit, or throw in some berries to mimic the variations found on grocery store shelves.
Here’s how easy it is…
1) Chop the apples. Simply quarter the apples and take out the cores. You may want to chop them into eighths depending on the size of apples. I usually fit about 6 chopped apples in the pitcher.
No, I don’t peel my apples. Apple peels contain a good portion of the fibre, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals in from the apple. Keeping the peels saves you time & energy and boosts the nutritional value of your sauce. Plus, it reduces food waste.
2) Load up the pitcher of your blender. I fill it right to the top because the large pieces break down quite quickly. If you’d like to add sweetener or spices, this is the time to do it.
3) Secure the lid and select the sauce/dip setting on the blender. In 30 minutes your applesauce will be complete! 6 apples will make approximately 3 cups of sauce.
If you prefer a REALLY smooth sauce like we do, you can run it through the smoothie setting once before you are finished.
That’s it!
