These low-carb, salty snacks are rich in iodine, vitamin B12, potassium, and trace minerals.
Seaweed snacks can be found in most grocery stores, but some contain ultra-processed oils and undesirable additives. Making them at home gives you the power to choose high quality ingredients and be in full control of the salt and oil levels.
This simple recipe starts with preheating the oven to 300F and mixing the oils in a small dish.
Lightly brush the seaweed sheets with oil on both sides. It may look like there is next to nothing going on them, but that is just how you want them. Too much oil will end up with a less crispy result. Sprinkle the sheets with salt or a seasoning of your choice (we enjoy seasoning salt).

Place the sheets directly on the baking racks in your oven. Bake them for 10-12 minutes. They will not be crispy when you check them, but after 2 minutes on a cooling rack they should easily bend or tear. Break into pieces and store in a air tight container.
Nori sheets are rich in vitamin B12, iron, iodine, and fibre. They also contain micronutrients that are important for many bodily functions and a bit of protein. It has been suggested that this seaweed can assist in removing toxins from the body and boost the immune system.
High quality, unrefined salt brings an array of essential minerals that can improve hydration, digestion, and electrolyte balance. A few of my favorite unrefined salts are Redmond Real Salt, Celtic Salt, and Vancouver Island Sea Salt.
Sesame oil contributes a balanced ratio of omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids as well as vitamin E and antioxidants.
